Drop foot clinic

Drop foot or foot drop is a muscular weakness or paralysis which can make it difficult to lift your foot or toes. It is most commonly a sign of an underlying problem which could be muscular, nerve damage or as a result of a brain or spinal injury. Often affecting just one foot, although it can affect both, it can be either a temporary or permanent condition.

At Manchester Orthotics we understand how drop foot can impact on your ability to walk safely and confidently. We are therefore able to provide you with a range of orthotics which can help to hold your foot and ankle in a stable position as you walk. We are also able to provide you with other services including physiotherapy, to help strengthen the muscles in your foot, ankle and leg, and occupational therapy to assess your home or work place and to recommend any products which may help to lessen the impact of the drop foot upon your life.

Our experienced team will work with you to assess your current ability, your needs and requirements as well as your goals for the future. We will then create a treatment plan which will be bespoke to you.

At Manchester Orthotics we pride ourselves on ensuring the patient is at the heart of what we do. If you have previously received treatment for drop foot and are not satisfied with your outcomes our experienced team are always happy to provide a second opinion.

We are not restricted by the manufacturers or suppliers our clinicians use which enables us to provide the best possible orthotic solutions on the market directly to you, the patient.
