Upper limb lower limb and spinal orthotics
Manchester Orthotics provides a comprehensive orthotic service covering all areas of the body. Our experienced HCPC and BAPO registered orthotist’s have a vast array of knowledge in upper limb, lower limb and spinal orthotics. Our orthotists are not restricted by which supplier or manufacturer they can use. This gives them the freedom to select the most suitable orthotic to achieve the best clinical outcome. Manchester Orthotics have a range of assessment tools including scanners, pressure plates, plaster casting and video analysis ensure all our orthotics are effective and comfortable.
Upper limb orthotics
We can assess and provide off the shelf or custom upper limb orthotics for a wide range of different conditions. Upper limb splints are commonly used for conditions such as:
- Carpal tunnel Syndrome
- Tennis/ golfers elbow
- Nerve palsy
- Repetitive strain
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Neurological issues
They can also be used to manage spasticity, maintain a stretch, reduce pain, improve function or support a weak/ flail arm.
Lower limb orthotics
We can assess and provide of the shelf or custom lower limb orthotics. The lower limb orthotics can be used to assist a weakness, stabilise a joint, maintain a muscle stretch, offload high pressure areas and offer protection to a body part. There are thousands of different lower limb orthotic devices. Our orthotists will ensure that after a thorough assessment the most appropriate orthotic device is chosen and fitted.
Manchester Orthotics provide off the shelf and custom spinal orthotics. Spinal orthotics can be use to support the spine for common conditions such as:
- Back pain
- Degenerative arthritis
- Herniated discs
Spinal orthotics can also be used to:
- Realign the spine (scoliosis treatment)
- Immobilising the spine after trauma or injury
- Help improve posture
