Insoles
Insoles are worn within shoes and can be adapted to provide support, stability, reduce pain, offload areas of high pressure and increase shock absorbency. Using different materials and adaptations our experienced orthotists are able to create bespoke solutions for many different conditions. Most commonly insoles can be used to treat:
- Joint pain including foot, ankle, knee, hip and back pain
- Joint instability
- Foot or ankle deformity
- Leg length discrepancies
- Excessive supination or pronation of the foot
Specific conditions which may be improved through the use of insoles include:
- Plantar fasciitis
- Arthritis
- Achilles tendonitis
- Charcot Marie Tooth
- Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD).
- Heel pain or Spurs
- Heavy callus or corns
Our custom made insoles are lightweight and are able to be worn within your everyday footwear. We can also provide insoles specifically for people that are partaking in certain sports such as, running, skiing, athletics, football and golf.
To assess your requirements our experienced orthotists will perform an assessment which will involve assessing the range of motion available within the joints of the foot, observing you walking and running if appropriate and discussing the difficulties you have been experiencing and the requirements you have from your insoles. This will allow our orthotists to establish the optimum prescription for your needs. A scan, cast or imprint of your foot will then be taken and this information along with the assessment findings will then be used to manufacture your bespoke insoles.
