Spinal braces

At Manchester Orthotics we provide a range of spinal braces to help provide support, protection and relieve back pain.

We provide both soft and rigid spinal braces depending upon your condition and requirements.

Soft braces provide minimal control but instead work to relieve pain and provide support by using compression around the abdominal area to reduce the strain placed upon the muscles within the back. They are made from soft elasticated fabric which means they are lightweight and be worn underneath clothing.

Rigid braces are designed to provide more structural support to your spine. There are many different designs which can limit or prevent specific movements which may have exacerbate your condition or symptoms.

There are many conditions which may require the use of a spinal brace including but not limited to:

  • Arthritis
  • Herniated disc
  • Kyphosis
  • Motor neurone disease
  • Osteoporosis
  • Scoliosis
  • Spinal fractures
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Spondylolisthesis

You may also benefit from a spinal brace if you have

  • Back pain
  • Poor posture
  • Reduced mobility

We are also able to provide condition specific braces such as scoliosis braces. Our orthotists are trained in the provision of Spinecor scoliosis bracing which uses a series of specifically placed elasticated straps to provide support and correction to a scoliosis curve.

Our experienced orthotists will complete a full assessment to establish the best spinal brace for you.
