Helmets
There are many reasons an individual may require a protective helmet. Manchester Orthotics are able to provide custom made helmets in a variety of materials enabling us to make both soft and hard protection for differing levels of possible impacts. We are also able to incorporate face masks if required.
Protective helmets are particularly beneficial when the individual has:
- An increased risk of trips or falls
- Poor balance or coordination
- Self harming behaviour
- A seizure disorder
- Undergone surgery
- Suffered an injury to the face or head
Due to our protective helmets being custom made we are able to make them as lightweight as possible this makes them comfortable to wear and enables the wearer to have increased confidence. We can make the helmets and bright or discreet as the wearer wishes.
If a helmet is deemed to be appropriate the orthotist will take a series of measurements or scan to ensure a well fitted and comfortable helmet.
