Medico legal assessments and reports are provided by our expert orthotists.
The medico-legal reports written by our orthotists can provide advice regarding:

How long will the report take?
The initial assessment is undertaken within two weeks of instruction. The medico-legal orthotist report will be provided within four weeks of the initial assessment.
How much will it cost?
Following your initial enquiry a written quotation for an orthotist expert assessment and report can be provided. This quotation will be broken down into the individual elements of the assessment and report. Costs vary depending on the location of the assessment and the complexity of the case and report.
How to instruct Manchester Orthotics
Written or emailed instruction is required prior to us arranging the assessment visit. Instruction must be in line with PD Part 35. The following information will need to be included in the instruction:
- Confirm acceptance of our terms and conditions
- Capacity of appointment
- Services required
- Purpose of the report
- Issues to be addressed
- Relevant medical records
- Other expert reports
- Witness statements
- Particulars of claim and defence
- Any relevant court orders
- Schedule of loss
- Other relevant background information

Assessment and recommendation reports
The specialist orthotists at Manchester Orthotics can provide assessments and reports detailing the assessment findings and recommending orthotic products. This service is often utilised by individuals who are requesting funding for their orthotics from a third party or case managers / solicitors who are requesting funds via an insurance company. The assessment and recommendation reports can provide information regarding the intended benefits of the orthotics and prices. Fitting and review appointments can also be included in the costings.
